Commissioner General Office - Who we are

Commissioner General Office is a contributory organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Czech participation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai.

History of Commissioner General Office

The government of the Czech Republic signed on for EXPO 2010 Shanghai, on January 3rd 2007.

In November 2007, Ing. Pavel Antonín Stehlík, MBA was appointed the Commissioner General for the Czech participation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai, by the Government of the Czech Republic. He was given the function on January 2nd 2008, when the official activity of Commissioner General Office was initiated for the World EXPO.

On January 23rd 2008, an agreement on the participation of the Czech Republic at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai was signed. The agreement was signed by the Commissioner General on behalf of the Czech Republic.

The advisory council of the Commissioner General was named in February 2008, whose members are representatives from culture, arts, entrepreneurship, expositions, public media and public administration.

In May 2008, the Government of the Czech Republic approved a new concept of the Czech participation at EXPO 2010 with the aim of presenting the Czech Republic as a modern, developed and prosperous country, an attractive tourist destination as well as an interesting place to invest and set aside CZK 532 million for this prestigious project.

In July 2008, Commissioner General Office put out a tender for the design of the pavilion and exposition for the Czech Republic, including its construction and operation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai.
