EXPO: Charles University presents at Czech Pavilion
Sanghai, 7/9/2010
Shanghai, 7 September 2010: Charles University is also using the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2010 to promote itself. The Faculty of Social Sciences is reaching out to both partner universities and individual potential students in Shanghai. According to the director of the Institute of Economic Studies Michal Mejstřík, Chinese youth are more and more interested in studying abroad and Charles University can offer them a wide range of educational and grant opportunities. The Faculty of Social Sciences already works with the Shanghai's prestigious Fudan University, which is represented at the day-long debate programme by the Vice Dean of its Economic Faculty, Sun Lijan.
Forty participants at the debate forum take on the topic of "The European Union and China at a Time of Turbulence". The discussions focus mainly on the impact of the economic crisis on fiscal policy and competitiveness of the EU and compare this with the situation in China and the course of the Asian banking crisis. Czech-Chinese business prospects then form a separate chapter.
