EXPO: Ten-year-old Zhang Ming from Hainan becomes five millionth visitor of Czech Pavilion

Sanghai, 17/8/2010

Shanghai, 17 August 2010: The Czech Republic's pavilion passed the five million visitor mark today, with the milestone guest being Zhang Ming (10 years), accompanied by her mother Wu Ying Yu (38 years). The finance department manager from the city of Haikou in Hainan Province selected the Czech exposition at EXPO 2010 because of its exterior: "I like the Czech Pavilion very much – we decided to visit it because I had heard a lot about it and I have to say that both the facade of the building and the exhibit inside are truly interesting."

Both visitors were welcomed to the national exposition by Pavilion Director Miloslava Kumbárová along with Dalibor Fabián, commercial director of Vítkovice Machinery Group. The company, which is a general partner of the Czech presence at EXPO 2010, is currently presenting a new generation of boat motor shafts at the Czech Pavilion.

"The attendance and media interest are obviously a source of pleasure for us. To be among the five or ten most recommended pavilions is good publicity for both our partners and the whole Czech Republic," says Miloslava Kumbárová.

The world's fair in Shanghai has been seen by around 41 million people since 1 May, with nearly 12 % of the visitors finding their way to the Czech Pavilion in competition with nearly two hundred countries and fifty other exhibitors.
