EXPO: Charles University presents at Czech Pavilion
Shanghai, 7 September 2010: Charles University is also using the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2010 to promote itself. The Faculty of Social Sciences is reaching out to both partner universities and individual potential students in Shanghai. According to the director of the Institute of Economic Studies Michal Mejstřík, Chinese youth are more and more interested in studying abroad and Charles University can offer them a wide range of educational and grant opportunities. The Faculty of Social Sciences already works with the Shanghai's prestigious Fudan University, which is represented at the day-long debate programme by the Vice Dean of its Economic Faculty, Sun Lijan.

Czech Literature Weeks began in the Czech Pavilion
Visitors to the Czech pavilion at the General World Fair Expo 2010 have the opportunity to become acquainted with the biggest names in Czech literature. In the kaleidoscope of pearls of the Czech Republic, one can come across the names Milan Kundera and Karel Čapek. Then the exhibit entitled Franz Kafka and Prague and the first Chinese translation of the Arnošt Lustig’s book "White Birches in the Autumn" can be seen in the multimedia hall starting September 4th. Lustig launched the Czech Literature Weeks in person, together with Czech Minister of Culture Jiří Besser and Chinese students of Czech studies, by a reading of certain chapters from his book.

EXPO 2010: Czech Fashion Week started
Alongside the "Archive of Miracles" exhibit of Czech design taking place in the multimedia hall of the Czech Republic's EXPO 2010 pavilion in Shanghai is also a presentation of Czech fashion. Five leading Czech designers dealt with the topic of "Memory", creating distinctive collections of ten models each. Although they did not consult each other, their work is bound not only by the theme, but also by its creative originality and the way it breaks down existing modes.

EXPO: Ten-year-old Zhang Ming from Hainan becomes five millionth visitor of Czech Pavilion
Shanghai, 17 August 2010: The Czech Republic's pavilion passed the five million visitor mark today, with the milestone guest being Zhang Ming (10 years), accompanied by her mother Wu Ying Yu (38 years). The finance department manager from the city of Haikou in Hainan Province selected the Czech exposition at EXPO 2010 because of its exterior: "I like the Czech Pavilion very much – we decided to visit it because I had heard a lot about it and I have to say that both the facade of the building and the exhibit inside are truly interesting."

EXPO: In Czech Pavilion began the Czech Design Weeks
Shanghai, August the8th 2010: Weeks of Czech Design have been festively opened today by starting the exhibition „Miracles Archive“ in the Czech Pavilion at EXPO. These weeks will last till the end of August and have two main events: Exhibition of ten leading designers and artists in the Multimedia Hall of the Czech Pavilion (8 August -31 August 2010) and Fashion Week (20 August – 25 August 2010), which will feature a runway show (18 August 2010, Bund 18) of five leading Czech fashion designers, and an installation of original designs at the same prestigious address: Bund 18. All designs and fashion collections have been created especially for this project.

EXPO: Lea Petříková, Winner of the student’s competition, visited Czech Pavilion
Shanghai, July 31th 2010: Lea Petříková, the absolute winner of the student’s competition announced by the Czech Section of EXPO 2010 visited Czech Pavilion today. The 17-years old author and her teacher who supervised the work Mrs. Kamila Svobodová welcomed Pavilion Director Miloslava Kumbárová and Events Manager Martina Hončíková. Lea Petříková took a view at the placement of her work and the whole pavilion too and said: “I like the Czech Pavilion a lot and I am happy that my work can be a part of it: I mostly appreciated the exhibits by Jakub Nepraš and his technique of connecting the objects and videos.“

EXPO: Four million visitors have already passed through the Czech pavilion
Shanghai, 28 July 2010: The Czech Republic’s pavilion received its four millionth visitor still not quite halfway through the General World Exposition – EXPO – in Shanghai. Mr Dawei Wang (24 years old) from the city of Ningbo in the Zhejiang province, who works for Johnson&Johnson, was welcomed by Commissioner General Pavel Antonín Stehlík along with representatives of Vítkovice Machinery Group, the general partner of the Czech participation at EXPO 2010. Mr Wang said: “I liked the outside of the Czech pavilion, so I was curious whether it would be just as nice inside, and I was not disappointed: the pavilion is not only beautiful, but I also learned a lot of new things about the Czech Republic. I have decided that I have to visit this country within two years.” The Commission General added: “The success of our marketing strategy for the Czech Republic is truly pleasing. It is giving us the energy we need for the second half of EXPO.”

EXPO: Czech Pavilion hosted Central and Eastern European Investment Day
Shanghai: On 26th July the Czech Pavilion together with other eight EXPO pavilions jointly hosted a Central and Eastern European Investment Day. Representatives of Chinese provincial governments, chambers of commerce and European commercial counsellors listened to the debate and presentations about new opportunities for economic co-operation between China and Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Slovenia, and Slovakia.

EXPO: Czech Regions are presenting to China
On Saturday July the 17th the Day of Region sis being organised at the World Exhibition EXPO 2010: at the festive start were present the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in China, H.E. Libor Sečka, Commissioner General Pavel Antonín Stehlík, presidents od the regions Milada Emmerová (Pilsen Region) a Jana Vaňhová (Ústí Region),Stanislav Eichler (Liberec Region) and Josef Novotný (Karlovy Vary Region).

Czech regions attract tourists in the national pavilion of the EXPO 2010
For ten days the multimedia hall of the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai will be taken over by the region of the Czech Republic. The common presentation directed by CzechTourism will take place from the 12 until the 21 of July and will offer guests a tasting of regional specialties and meals: the selection of South Moravian wines, the beers Radegast and Zlatopramen, Stará myslivecká and gingerbread from Pardubice. The permanent menu of the Czech restaurant on the EXPO 2010 then offers Becherovka or Budějovický Budvar, which already have their distributors in China.
