Navigation system will make moving around the EXPO grounds simpler
Shanghai, 22/8/2008
The expected enormous traffic at EXPO 2010 will be regulated by GPS.
The Taiwanese company Mio Technology Ltd. has entered into a sponsorship contract with the organizers to provide navigational services for the World EXPO in Shanghai. The company, which belongs among the world players in mobile GPS, will provide visitors with information about the actual conditions of the municipal transportation through the GPS; it will guide and regulate its flow directly in the areas of the exposition area spread over 5.28 km². It will also update information about tourist attractions, restaurants or shopping in Shanghai by GPS. This is the first time where modern navigational technologies will be used at the World EXPO and at the same time, this is the first contact between the Chinese organizers and the Taiwanese company.
