Shanghai, 23/10/2010
Capsule Fenix I, one of three devices built to rescue 33 trapped Chilean miners, began to be exhibited in Chile Pavilion today.
It will stay at the Expo Site till the event ends on October 31. The capsule-like device is 3.82 metre high and weighs 455 kilogram. A crane, winch and a set of pulleys and cables controlled the movement of the capsule, which was designed to fit one body within a 530-millimetre diametre enclosure. The Chile Pavilion also added some introduction about the rescue mission into its exhibition.
