Fashion show spotlights Czech designers
Shanghai, 19/8/2010
A fashion show featuring the collections of five leading Czech designers was staged at Bund 18 last night, as part of the Czech Fashion Week that runs until August 25. The theme of the show was memory, and the five designers expressed their understanding on "contemporary memory of a female personality," "memory and its forms," "memory of craftsmanship and creativity," "memory of the future" and "personal memory."
Pavel Ivancic explored polar opposites in his designs -- the unknown and the apparent, the female and the male, the hard and the soft. His models express the memory of the body and the mind. Monika Drapalova took her inspiration from the river and designed a similarly subtle and flowing collection. The memories of Klara Nademlynska are the most forward-looking. Her designs are all simple cloaks with sparkling jewels.
